Ok I know that if you go looking for greens etc, its almost impossible (so I've been told) with Henchmen because they swallow them (is that true?) or nay, but do heroes suffer any problems this way, as using a few heroes would be a fantastic way for a fun day out

any thoughts

Drops are always distributed randomly between all party members regardless of whether they are henchmen, heroes, or humans. The more party members there are, the less chance you personally will get a particular drop.

Had a green Elona axe drop yesterday with 2 heroes and 5 hench.
So it's possible.
When I hit a green, I'm happy. The boss was just an enemy standing in the way, or just a couple of sunspear points. The green is bonus.

you can get green items with henchies and heros.....its all random. I usually travel with henchies and have gotten numerous greens with them. I have not had the heros long enough to bump into many bosses----time will tell if they help or hinder.

Heroes still take their share, yes... I've gotten a Thorgall's and Wing's Axe randomly, with seven NPCs, and gotten nothing in SF farming runs... -_-

I wish you could ditch hero starter gear, like that PoS machete Koss has.

Gotten two greens the last week with full team of heroes (tain´s corruption and lou´s karambits).

Regarding getting rid of heroes weapons, just throw them in the trashcan, you might have to change the starter weapon to another weapon (so that the hero is always armed) then throw it away.

You can. Just equip a different weapon and then throw the old one in the trash.
